The Project Management Team

A project development team is being assembled, led by a Chief Executive who have already been appointed. 

Peter Fairlie - Chief Executive

Peter is a highly experienced executive and has an excellent track record leading the development of a range of national companies and brands.   This includes a range of sectors: whisky, visitor centres, healthcare, pharmaceutical services, IT web based services, hotel & leisure, retail and trade exhibitions.  He developed the Macallan brand at Highland Distillers PLC, increasing profitability by a factor of 2.5 over three years, while also extensively developing the group's distillery visitor centres.   As Managing Director of Glenturret Distillery, he undertook a complete reorganisation, and developed the visitor facilities from scratch into the top ten of all Scottish visitor attractions with 230,000 visitors making it the most successful and most visited distillery in the country, while also developing a restaurant with retail facility.   He was a non-executive Director of the Scottish Tourist Board 1995-98 and the Scottish Sports Council 1993-96, in 1988 he co-founded ASVA (Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions) and was a member of the Scottish Tourist Board Advisory Group who devised the Autumn Gold Campaign.       Other Key appointments will be made as the project progresses.

Numerous community workshops have been held and with future workshops planned the Community are fundamentally behind the design of The Calyx.
