As part of a gift from Diageo plc Cherrybank Gardens and Visitor Centre are now owned and managed by Scotland's Garden Trust. As a permanent base for the Trusts operations, Cherrybank Gardens and Visitor Centre have become a focus for development of The Calyx. The Garden and Visitor Centre have been incorporated into The Calyx masterplan and during the interim period a series of events are planned to highlight the project and the gardens here at Perth.

Cherrybank Gardens is currently home to the Bell’s National Heather Collection, a superb six acre garden housing some 50,000 plants with over 900 varieties of heather in a stunning garden setting.

You are invited to soak up the relaxing ambience, complemented by artworks, tubular bells, and water features including the acoustic pool and trout stream.

The Visitor Centre includes something to keep all of the family amused with a dedicated area for children’s play, an aviary and Putting Green.

Relax and unwind in the Garden Terrace Café and experience our freshly prepared snacks and homebaking or sample our collection of rare single malts in the Whisky Shop. Round off your visit by browsing through our gift selection and be tempted by our range of Scottish plants, produce, arts and crafts.

Cherrybank Gardens, the UK's largest collection of heathers, is designed to provide a rich mix of colour throughout the year to delight both horticulturists and casual admirers.

There are now over 900 carefully nurtured varieties from all over the heather growing world and the Centre enjoys an important conservationist role as well as being a unique showcase for visitors incorporating a Children's play area, putting green and aviary. Head for the hills by all means, but real appreciation of the beauty of heather starts at Cherrybank, just 5 minutes from the town centre of Perth.
