The Calyx will be a stimulating world class true living landmark in Perth celebrating our natural environment through a magnificent garden and community visitor facility. It is an exciting project serving the whole of Perthshire and communities throughout Scotland, enhanced by the easily accessible location and passionatley anticipated by everyone involved.
This exceptionally inspired initiative promotes learning and involvement for the youngest to the oldest, regardless of age, disability, social or economic status. Communities will be engaged and strengthened by empowering people to come together to learn how to transform their spaces, urban or rural, while horticultural training across Scotland will be invigorated through partnerships with education providers.
The Calyx will directly and indirectly create opportunities for communities throughout Scotland in a way distinct from any other Scottish project, encouragaing healthier, more active communities with greater lifelong learning, more positive recreation and personal fulfilment.
The project is an exemplar of best practice in horticulture, the environment and health issues and will lead improving attitudes towards sustainability in homes and businesses throughout Scotland.
The Calyx will promote positive lifestyle changes including more active engagement with gardening, environmental issues, use of resources, healthy eating and general wellbeing. In addition, The Calyx will drive harmonious social and economic development, enhancing the Scottish tourism sector by delivering this world class project.
